What do you guys think of this set.

Looks good to me. Looks to be fountain pen, with Beatles written by Paul.

Any opinions?

Thanks

Lewis

yes and sold for £2900

It doesn't surprise me that it was sold separately. I wonder if a would be dealer thinks he has got himself a lifetimes supply of fully authentic autographed Beatles pictures?
I wonder, was there any reference to authenticity in the items description? Also the way the lots were divided and estimated could be seen as a form of acknowledgment that there were doubts?

Lots were sold as seen.

Auction house emailed me with this:

Beatles- We regret that these items are ones which demand personal viewing. Bids left at any other basis will be accepted without any responsibility on our part.

Unreal. They even looked as though they were signed yesterday.

I think these were probably written in the 60s, by someone not to deceive. i.e secretarials, mal etc

I would say you are right.

I just found this link to a UK News article about this collection of autographs. Interestingly the article seems to imply the pictures were obtained after the autograph book was signed.

Mr Astall got John, Paul, George and Ringo to sign his autograph book when the band played in Llandudno.

He also kept a poster of the event and later tracked down signed photographs of the band.

This might explain why the autograph book appears authentic and the pictures are mainly forgeries.
