I contacted this eBay seller asking if he stands by JSA authentication results for his ball and would offer a refund should the results be negative. Here is his reply:


no i do not offer a money back guarantee, i have given all the information that i have found out about the ball. i cannot guarantee what an authenticity service will do. i have seen one from PSA authenticated which is a much better company.

considering the fact that 1948 ruth signatures are very rare, and his no return policy, I would move onward and forget this.

I've never understood why anyone would shell out a ton of money for a ball where you can't even see the sig. 

I'm trying to complete my 500 HR collection and can't afford a nice dark signature. I'll take any authentic Ruth signed baseball I can get. But I understand your point. Just can't she'll out the $4,000+ for a nicely signed Ruth.
