Greetings,

I am by no means a Babe Ruth autograph expert or for that matter well versed in Ruth signed ephemera.  However, I happened upon this Babe Ruth SP in Ebay's completed auctions and saw that this photo sold for just over $1,100.  Now that selling price alone tells me that something is not "right" with this scenario if a legitimate Ruth SP.  Turns out this very same photo is now being offered for sale for $12K+ on another site.  I have attached a pic of this photo currently offered.

Am I missing something here or could this be authentic???????  No PSA or JSA was included either.

Thanks all.

Thanks for the reply.  The individual currently selling it is 100% convinced it's legit and he says he spent hours comparing with known exemplars.  I also do not see this as authentic from the few authentic Ruth's I've seen.  Appreciate your comment.

Pretty much I told him that even from my limited exposure to Ruth as there were several glaring problems as you pointed out.  He told me he has an appt with JSA to get it authenticated end of this month and he will let me know what JSA states.

That looks like a Coach's Corner special that's been "OK'd" by Lee

Guys .. I just went onto that Coach's Corner site and I am literally in shock!  LOL  How in God's name can they continue to run month after month with all those (in my opinion) blatant fakes and not have the FBI on top of them???????  No wonder this hobby has turned into what it has.  Geeeeesh.

I couldnt post but knew Mr Farrell would have a hey day( or a stroke) with this one. Truly hilarious, probably barber signed cause its a real clip job for whatever human being actually bought this!

You're right Coach's corner does have their own look. They have contributed mightly for the last 20+ years now of slowly killing the hobby with no end in sight. Why does the FBI spend all their time & money trying to nail a low level internet scammer for mail fraud charges the eventually get dropped instead of a slam dunk case with years of evidence of one the Kingpins Coach's corner?

Correct!  Coach's Corner must have "connections" with people in law enforcement to be able to continue to peddle their garbage at will with no consequences.

I heard a rumor at The National last year that they are paying off a few of the right people in Allentown, PA branch who look the other way & ignore complaints, while focusing their attention elsewhere.

That is the worst Ruth forgery that I have ever seen.

You should check out Coach's corner LOT 158 then. Big, bold auto on the sweet spot and a "HOF 1939 N.Y." INSCRIPTION underneath! Gimmie a frickin break LEE!!

pathetic forgery

This looks awful
