I buy mostly baseball and football sigs.. I always buy sigs on OMLB and Official DUKE NFL footballs.

Now I look at a lot of basketballs and even ones that are UDA are not always Official NBA basketballs??  I see more indoor outdoor balls, wilson, and spalding. Some are official NBA balls but most are not..

Is it normal or more accepted in the basketball market to see signatures on non official NBA balls?  Or should it be the norm and expected to see a Jordan and Lebron on Official balls?

The basketball "market" doesn't seem to care. As a buyer/ collector / seller of NBA items on most cases I will not get the price I paid back for an expensive ball with an auto on it. If I'm going to sell a signed ball for $100-$200 it doesn't normally matter if the ball costed me $20 or $150. Hence why not use the cheaper ball.

When you are talking about UDA, most of the ones that aren't official balls, they are signed at camps etc where participants have brought a ball with them.
In saying that in all my years I haven't noticed much or any sale difference in the price between an official NBA ball or any other ball even with UDA items.

I myself have before purchased a game used ball that was signed by a bench player for $40. The ball itself would sell for hundreds in the right market place.

I have purchased game used custom shoes for cheaper then it would cost me to buy any pair similar at footlocker etc.

Most collectors just want a Jordan or lebron auto and don't care what its on.
