I purchased an old scrapbook (1950s) in a junk store that contains numerous newspaper clippings of R&B musicians of the era, some promotional photos, concert/show announcements, and on one page there is a small slip of paper that appears to be BB King's signature. It doesn't look exactly like his "autograph" that I see posted here and elsewhere, but I find it odd that the (unknown) creator of the scrapbook pasted it in the book if it wasn't his handwriting. There are no other autographs or memorabilia in the book other than newspaper clippings and photos. I would appreciate any comments from those who are much more knowledgeable than I about this. I can't make out the other writing on the small scrap of paper, but it appears to be something like "out for Madley".

That is without doubt B.B.'s 'Love you madly' inscription and signature. I would say it is early 60s. Congrats!
Wow that is exciting news! Thank you so much Richard for providing your informative response. I can see now that it says "Love you madly".
I believe I can fairly reliably date it as 1958 based on the news clippings on the same and consecutive pages: Roy Hamilton's "Crazy Feeling/In a Dream" released that week (4/58), Pope receives the Platters (1958), Mickey and Sylvia release of Bewildered (1958) along with other articles that date to 1958.
I will most likely keep the BB King inscription, but to estimate value I am thinking in the range of $75-$100. Do you think that is a reasonable guess?
Do you believe the value would be any lower if it is removed from the scrapbook? My husband is thinking of framing it along with a photo he has, but I'm interested to hear your thoughts about it.
Again, thank you very much for your time.
