I've just bought this set from March 1962, when the Beatles played Stroud, Gloucestershire. This was the first time Brian Epstein booked them outside the north of England. Pete Best was still drumming for them, but not for much longer. Unfortunately there's no Paul signature, but he still remembers it well - he always says this was the worst gig they ever played, because hardly anyone showed up and they were pelted with coins!

These are mine from late in 1962. These were taken back stage at Plaza Ballroom in Birmingham face to face. Only about 30 people in audience, such a big difference going into 1963 in terms of how easy it was to get close to them. At this 62 gig my friend was invited back stage and to the sound check by McCartney. He went back stage and got the autographs but declined the soundcheck - just another Liverpool band at that point!
