A Beatles Fan Club card with a John Lennon signature on the recto and a Paul McCartney signature on the verso and an additional piece of paper with signatures of George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Both are laid down to a piece of paper previously part of a scrapbook, right edge rough. The consignor met the Beatles at a private party at Burt Lancaster's LA home on August 25, 1964 and obtained these signatures. The lot is accompanied by a letter of provenance from her.
So if i'm reading it right, the Lennon signature on the front of the card is real (the RIngo, George and Paul are Aspinalls?), with a real Paul on the reverse (not shown) and a real Ringo and George on the scrap of paper?
Sold ofr $1500 which is a pretty good price. Shame Bonhams haven't made the description a little clearer by saying the other autographs on the front of the card aren't genuine.
It's actually not that rare to find half genuine half Aspinall sets, here's another set with a genuine John and Ringo and Aspinall signing for George and Paul.
