I think the signature above is in Russia. The first letter is D might be a first letter of a name, the second letter(M or N) might be a first letter of a patronymic name. The next D is for surname, after "d" it seems like "a" and then goes russian "v". If you post more pictures of the page or a book (whatever it is) I will try to say more. And I can't see the letters and numbers at the bottom of the page.

Hi - I have attached the entire image per requests.... thanks for everyone's kind help. I have to travel in order to see the original image to determine if the Stalin autograph is actually part of the print or whether it is an original signature on the print itself. I'm still curious what the other signature is above the Stalin sig. . . .

By the way, the provenance looks to be good. My father-in-law's father (Dr. Jerome Davis http://new.oberlin.edu/arts-and-sciences/departments/sociology/awar... ) worked for the YMCA in the Russian POW camps during WW I 1915-1917 and did meet with Stalin and Lenin. Perhaps this was a gift.

I think it's a signature of the artist. Will you make the close photo of the inscriptions at the bottom?
