Derek Jeter Forgeries.....with Steiner Holograms?!?! I got PSA Quick Opinions!

If anyone read my post the other day about all of these items with Steiner Holograms but no COA card you will recall seeing multiple items including 8x10's and balls.  Well today I saw a Jersey with a Steiner HOLO but no COA card and decided to get a opinion from PSA.

Here is the Jersey I submitted to PSA.  AND CHECK OUT THAT PSA RESPONSE.....LIKELY NOT GENUINE!   How many thousands of people have these counterfeit Steiner items in their collection?

USE YOUR BRAIN....HOW ARE SO MANY PEOPLE LOSING CERTIFICATION CARDS FOR STEINER JETER ITEMS.  IT IS NO MYSTERY AT ALL.  I THINK WE HERE, KNOW THE ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION.

Obviously these aren't real Steiner Jeter Items (and you won't get a forgery if you order directly from Steiner)....This is part of a huge fraud that is ripping people out of millions of dollars.  I've seen more of these than I can count.  People are removing Steiner HOLO's from cheap items and putting them on forgeries to make BIG BUCKS!

Steiner needs to have an online database. That's the solution in my opinion

Well now I have people saying the PSA quick opinion is wrong.  I guess we are now faced with the age old problem of ( Is PSA as good as we think they are ).  I wish Chris Williams would have weighed in on this a little more.

Here's a psa quick opinion anecdote for you - over the course of a 6week period I did 3 psa quick opinions on an autograph I knew for sure was real. I wanted to see how efficient they were. Each time I got a different answer lol

3 quick opinions. 1 autograph. 3 different results.

Agree with other comments. We are starting to see a lot of fake Muhammad Ali and other items in Australia and New Zealand with Steiner holograms where someone has simply taken the hologram from a cheap item. Until they make the holograms tamper proof and  / or add an online database with photos it is only going to get worse.

I imagine when we see legends such as Ali die we will see the market flooded with fake Steiner photos and gloves etc.

I think it is safe to say that if Steiner maintains their current process, the Steiner label as a whole will be much less trusted.  I already have no confidence in their products nor would I want to purchase one because if this gets worse the chances of reselling for fair market  value will be destroyed.

Steiner is one of the best companies in the world when it comes to authentic autographs and memorabilia. Saying you have no confidence in their product because a couple criminals have faked their items is like saying you don't trust the U.S. dollar because there's a chance you might get a fake one. It's just silly.

Counterfeit items exist for everything in existence from coins to electronics to clothing, watches and handbags. Their existence does not make the original authentic item any less valuable, and Steiner maintains the highest resale value of any autograph authentication on the market today. I agree that they have to step up and address these issues, but let's not blow this way out of proportion.
I think he is referring to buying Steiner items from a secondary source. If you go straight to Steiner the items are authentic but after that it's been shown they may not be. There's no denying that
If you buy straight from Steiner though you're a sucker!!! Lol. So overpriced

Mike T.  I think if Steiner doesn't address this problem it will taint their name in the long run.  That's my opinion and I don't think it's silly at all.

and Sam Iam, you are absolutely correct...only a person with money to burn would buy directly from Steiner.  Their prices are just stupid high.  Sometimes as much as 5 times FMV

Hey I just found this ebay seller sportslegendsink and he has a whole lot of fake autographs with Steiner items. I know the alis are bad for sure
Please look at his other items and tell us what else is bad I can only vouch for the alis myself
Here's a post I did about the alis

Some of his stuff is ok, the Mariano Rivera, Jeter and DiMaggio are not good IMO. Common practice for sellers to mix good stuff with bad since their profit margin is so high with the forgeries they can afford to buy some good stuff to sell.
