I got an email with the subject heading "You Won" an auction from Ebay. Not wanting to pay a single shipping fee I bid on other items to combine the shipping and bring the average cost of shipping down. When I went to my purchase page the item I was told I won was not there because I didn't win it, it was an Ebay lie. In found it in my not won files. I'm about to call and give Ebay Hell.
Has this happened to anyone else yet?

Twice in the last two weeks, once was the day before this. It has nothing to do with hacking, it has to do with Ebay ineptitude.

Have you not seen all of the Emails and news broadcasts about Ebay lately??

Change your password, the site has been hacked.

Also was the item you supposedly won an item you actually bid on?  Second I have never heard of buying more items on ebay to lower shipping costs? Each seller sets their own shipping costs.  I would def. call ebay and let them know what happened.

PS you can cancel the items you bought if you dont want them now, no sweat.

As I just said, twice in two weeks & just before this happened. Yes I had bid on the item, I did call Ebay & I let the seller know that Ebay was screwed up. You never heard of sellers combining items for the same shipping price or reduced? They send items together they have less cost, why should you pay the full amount?

"Second I have never heard of buying more items on ebay to lower shipping costs?"

If you buy multiple items from the same seller, it is common practice (especially if they are like items - say photos) to pack the items together for a minimal shipping cost.  For example, instead of paying $6 per item for two items ($12 total), the seller packs the items together and charges $6 total.

I caught that after I typed it. They way you described it I immediately thought you meant you were shopping around Ebay from any seller and somehow you got ebay to combine the shipping.. I wanted to know how you did that.

But yes from the same seller yes, all the time.

$6.00 for two items saves you $3.00 doesn't it? That means you cut your cost in half or by 50%. At least that's how we did math when I was going to school.
