I’ve recently come across these items for sale, listed as coming from an “Estate Collection” of a well known collector. I am assuming ‘well known’ as I was able to find his name on this site (he has passed away some time ago however). I do not wish to give out the name so that it may not cloud your judgment on these items, in case you did know who he was. At first glance they appeared to be good, but after a much closer look, I’m thinking they are quite questionable. I am posting a sample for you to decide from. I was able to find fault with all but the Lockwood, which I’m on the fence about… but as they usually say if a few are bad then don’t bother with the rest! My thoughts are if this person was supposedly reputable, they probably did have a genuine collection, but at some point they were all copied by hand and are now all trying to be sold off again? Just a theory…I’d appreciate your thoughts on these. Thanks!
