Hello everyone,
I thought i would throw this conversation up because i havent heard it really talked about recently, and it annoys me as much as anything on ebay. I search for alot of the same names on ebay each day to see if any rare or new items come up. And each and every day, with almost every band that i search, i see offers for "authentic signed guitar picks". And i cant even tell you how bad of forgeries they are. It truly is rediculous. Most are just laughable, yet they sale for 15 to 20 dollars and are never taken down by ebay. I have reported numerous items to ebay and they never remove them. I suppose its because they dont have enough proof and dont feel like doing the research on lesser name bands, but cmon, good grief. A few good examples off the top of my head that i search for often are Paramore, and Avenged Sevenfold.
Here is a horrible unbelievable forgery of Paramores lead singer Haley williams. It only takes looking at a few authentic examples to know this isnt her sig, yet alone an experienced collector. and these same group of guys sell nothing but these and have unlimited supplies and the forgeries are horrible. Here is the link to the Haley guitar pick

Here are some laughable avenged sevenfold signed guitar picks that are up each and every week by the same group of sellers. Truly pathetic, and they often get purchased!

And these guys sell tons of forgeries. Especially the guy selling the avenged sevenfold picks. He sells not only a ton of picks but also his new thing is signed drumsticks, and they are horrible forgeries too, and they get bid on as well. it really is sad but ebay never pulls the items when i report them. Is their anything we really can do in this situation , short of keep reporting their items? And if you search about any modern day band, youll find these fake signed guitar picks everywhere, its a growing plague i have noticed with the rock autographs.
Hope to hear others thoughts
Chris

If they're selling that band heavily, maybe it wouldn't be the worst idea to contact the band's management. Not that you're guaranteed to get a response, but clearly this seller is cashing in on forging them in particular. They might be interested.
Anyone who buys these just isn't too sharp. Even if I saw authentic ones up for sale, it's not a desirable item given how small they are and that the signatures would look immediately look ugly when limited to that much space. I'd put them right alongside signed golf balls as far as items I have zero interest in even considering.
