I have a couple of signed Mccartney Beatles' LP' s that I am thinking of having framed; can anyone advise on the sorts of things that are important to consider - regarding protecting the item and how to best display these items

This might be what Paul wrote about, suggested. Acid free matting, album is wrapped in clear acid free cover, so can "float" without any adhesive on the album. And museum glass, high UV protection and no glare.

Masters apprentices framed today with just normal glass

thank you for all your suggestions and ideas ; i also suppose a signature with a sharpie would be safer to display than one with a biro, so may choose that one

I frame mine Ricardo. My guy said all custom frame shops today should use acid free. But always ask. You have got to use conservation glass. Museum glass has same protection, twice as expensive. But I will splurge on expensive pieces, (if not too large) it sure looks good. I also block my windows out in my room so no light comes in. Not practical for everyone I know. My framer gives me a decent discount since I've paid his shop off for him. He just called, my Kiss piece is ready.

Hey Barry S

How are you mounting those on the slanted part of your wall??  I have a very similar wall and would love to hang some items.

thanks

Mark

Mark that has really been a project! I've avoided it as long as I could but have used up all my vertical wall space. My framer has the only system I've seen and I don't like it. What I've done so far is find one or two studs, depending on how big the piece is. Lowes doesn't have a perfect bracket for this, at first I had to drill my own hole in a bracket that was to big. Used one hole, drilled one, cut off. The last time I was there I found an L shaped bracket with 3 holes. The 2 holes are perfect I leave the angle part behind the frame. I drill 4 holes on the back side of the frame that line up with the studs. It may be a little overkill but they aren't falling. My Kiss piece is going up next and it's huge! I'm going to try using clips on the outside of the frame for this. I found a type of a clip I think will work, going to have to paint black. I'll send a pic. The smaller bracket I just found look best.

Thanks for the suggestion - would love to see a photo of the back of one of the frames - if its not too much trouble.
