Gregg Allman My Cross To Bear auto-signed books

I've heard a few stories about the signed Gregg Allman book My Cross To Bear having a good number of auto-signed copies out there. Does anyone know much about what happened and how to spot the auto-signed books? I had heard they were only the ones with tipped in pages? True? Thanks -

He says he used an autopen....Wow. Had no idea. I think his kidney or liver gave out and he got sick and couldn't sign anymore so they went with autopen.
