How to obtain autographs through the mail (TTM)

I was wondering how to get autographs through the mail? I'm new to this so I'm clueless how to do it. Do you just write a letter and wait to see if anything comes back? Do you have to send a photo with your request and hope they sign it or do the celebrities send one to you?

Are you paid to advertise?

I use Startiger, Fanmail and others and my own internet research. I've sent out over 400 TTM's in the past 15 months and have around 80% back so far. When sending to a concert venue I always send a hand written letter and most artists sign photos and send a note back yet few reply to typed letters.

Often sending mail to accountants or lawyers works if you cannot find the stars address. Main thing is only send what you can afford to lose and be patient!
