A lot of collectors (including myself) do not like stickers directly on an item. That being said, has anyone removed stickers from baseballs or flats before? Could I carefully peel if off without harming the baseball? Or do I need some sort of material/tool?
I sent a baseball to be signed by Yogi Berra a while ago; unfortunately, they put his hologram on the ball. Here's a quick scan of the sticker:
Could I just simply remove the sticker from the middle (where it looks "bumpy")?
For this particular item, would removing the sticker be detrimental to the integrity of the item? Since I have no paperwork for this item, could I just put the sticker on the letter Yogi Berra's company sent to me? I ask this not for my comfort (as I know it was signed) but for the future buyer when/if it comes time to sell the piece.
I also have some other flats that I would like to remove stickers from.
Feel free to share your experiences/techniques with regard to sticker removal. Any advice is much appreciated!
