I'm fairly new at collecting this sort of thing. About five years, I guess. My thing is signed baseballs (NY Yankees). I'm no expert. I don't plan to be one, but it helps to use a little common sense.

I've been watching a signed Babe Ruth ball on eBay out of curiosity. It ends in a few hours. It was at 99 cents for about a week and today has made it up to $38 so far. The description includes two photos.

On one side, Babe has signed it along with the inscription "Never give up." I'm not sure when Babe signed it, but there is a clue. The other photo is the reverse side of the ball. It lists the president of the Southern League. This guy was said president from 2000 to 2011. I guess Babe signed it between those years. 

I guess I'll just never understand how people's brains work.
