As sort of an educational experiment I decided to see how long it would take me to forge a half way believable Mickey Mantle autograph.  After seeing all of the crap that I see on ebay, I just decided to see how much time it takes a forger to come up with the crap they sell.  It took me only 5 minutes to get the signature below.  

While I will ball this up and throw it in the garbage, there are many who aren't as decent.  Just think....If I can come up with this in 5 minutes, you better think twice before you buy just anything off of ebay.  The internet is a very dangerous place for autograph collectors.  It takes a matter of seconds to create a forgery and while the forgery I created wouldn't fool experts, it would surely fool the novice collector.  

This is my call to collectors to spend the time to learn and study any particular autograph before you simply hit that bid button.  I am sick and tired of seeing these forgeries flooding the market.  It makes me sick because I am a legitimate buyer and seller of autographs.  

I want you to realize that every forgery you buy keeps this flame burning.  As long as forgers have a market to sell to, they will continue to pump this garbage out to the public.  Every forgery that is sold, makes someones legitimate autograph worth less.  I'M SICK OF IT!
