Sir Paul was in my town a month back, so I tried to meet him.  It was only about 4 of us at the airport and I thought he might actually sign for us. He did roll down the window and wave.  I still think that was pretty cool.  He didn't even have to do that… just could have keep driving.

NOW - I tried to meet him when he was leaving. Still only about 4 of us.   It was cold and late at night.. which is ok - part of the game.  His body guard came over and asked us to leave the parking area and wait by the street.  Really… ok no worries we can just wait in the grass.  He then went on to say - Paul has not stop to sign anything this tour - BUT if he does you have to write "YOUR NAME" "the CITY we are in" and the "Date".  REALLY???  At the time I didn't raise a fuss, but later on I really wish I had.  The reason we had to write all the crap on our album was because of "Ebay" according the to body guard.  Really EBAY!!  Please… Is Ebay really hurting Paul McCartney.   I wanted to say… instead of complaining about ebay - why doesn't he just charge a fee and donate it to his favorite charity.  Still has me shaking my head….  I am glad I didn't write all that crap on the album and ruin it.  Oh - and Paul didn't stop btw.

I'm with Adam. The videos a joke.
With macca he is a Beatle who has to be mindful of his safety, look at what happened to Lennon.George also was stabbed in his own house.
But keep trying who knows may get lucky.

Yup, that's an ugly side, the greedy pigs. The worst ones are the ones that curse at the stars when they wont sign. A new thing that has popped up is that everybody is armed with a cellphone so the stars never get a break, wherever they go they are bugged for pictures so they don't want to stop.

I would point out that Deep Purple are selling fully signed items at their concerts for more than reasonable prices..... And as you see - it´s not solution.

I also remember an interview with the late Mr. Paul Newman. He would for a time sign autographs for people until he was dogged everywhere he went. The final straw was while he was taking a piss and there was a guy pestering him for one. I would have pissed on this guy myself. As a result he told his people No More autographs. The days of the autograph hounds have done nothing but poison the pond for everyone. Scott

I posted this at auto graphing airport, very similar thread.

Richard Simpkins book rich and the famous

I don't blame her for not wanting to sign nude photos of herself. People change.

Yes people change. Erica eleniak from bay watch was the same after she had kids having second thoughts on her playboy modeling.

Sorry but standing somewhere and being a fan of someone does not entitle you to a autograph the way you want it.

Just to make a point from my original post.  I did not like the whole he is not signing because of Ebay statement.  If Mr. McCartney doesn't want to stop and sign - that's ok - just don't throw this Ebay BS in my face is all.

This thread is great. You guys all bring up great points and fun stories. I have many similar ones, too.

... Last year caught Macca coming out of his office in London. There were 4-5 of us, and he asked us how did we know that he was there - have seen him many times there over the years, and he's never asked that before. I guess he used to just expect that fans wait outside these places, but now is more suspicious. Anyway, he signed and was pleasant -asked for our names for signing

Very cool - thanks for sharing!
