I'd be interested to know if this Paul McCartney's handwriting.

The mispelling could be an honest mistake by Paul.

It is being auctioned at Christie's.  I wonder who authenicated this.

Wow,incredible piece!!!!Its the real thing!!

It  seems obvious that Mccartney was heavily involved in running the band in this early stage!

I loved reading about this.  thx for the posting!

call me suspicious but something about this whole letter bothers me, more than just the handwriting.  If they were that pressed to find a drummer that quickly, why a letter, as opposed to a phone call? They did have phones back then!  Seriously, I hope this is authentic because it is a great piece of music history, but there is something funny about it.

I believe Bill Harry said that this letter was never actually followed up because Pete was auditioned the night after Mccartney had written this.

Why not just ask Paul McCartney if he wrote it, since it's such big news?

It`s really interesting to read that the newspaper-advert for this letter already is found. I think that removes all doubts about this remarkable piece. Will be interesting to see what it will sell for..

Well... The auction for this incredible letter was 3 days ago, and sold for $55412.... :)
