Came across this James Dean autograph at a great price and fully authenticated by a company called rareandsigned.com. Should I act fast! Is this a steal? Seller said it belonged to his grandfather and is selling it because he needs money. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I would run away from anything authenticated by rare and signed, including this.

Thank you for the heads up.

Aren't Rare and Signed COAs supposed to be banned from Ebay anyway?

The certificate looks pretty legit and professional, even has watermarking and an exact high quality photo of the item.

Anyone can do that, regardless of their qualifications or intent.

Here's a list of COAs banned from Ebay. Click on "Certificates of Authenticity and Letters of Authenticity."  You'll see Rare and Signed listed as "not allowed."

HELL NO

that is the idea. the COA is intended to fool unsuspecting buyers into believing the item is authentic.

I see. Glad I didn't purchase it. Seller has just lowered the price even more!

Now it's only overpriced by $1,149.98.

Haha very true. The paper is probably worth more. The listing has been removed. Maybe someone reported it.
