not authentic

Oh dear - ah well, I'm taking steps to get my money back - I must be pretty unlucky at collecting some times.

I know this is Original and perfect with flowing O in the middle,

This TED person that says otherwise is Mistaken sadly.  I like your book   CHeers

This one doesnt look quite right to me, but i could be wrong. Here are a few scans of probable genuine items to compare too. The first one pictured is very similar to the one in the original thread, but their seems something off. I just dont like the formation of the one above. But it could be authentic, i just wouldnt feel comfortable with it. In particular, the second hump, for lack of a better term appears off to me. What do you find off about it Ted? I just dont like the formation of the second hump.

The one below is PSA certed

This has been certified online threw PAAS Autographes president and bookbids and others just today -  I think the lower book is a fake since they are known to have Not signed together.. The sigs would have to been signed at different times  NO ticket ? . Also my books are hologramed unlike the copies you provided have No proof besides the 20k signature on Philosophers stone on ebay  way differnt style  . Also the first book is a 1997 example it doesnt look anything like a new style. also i have a causal vacancy book signed and hologramed also a deathly hallows with Hologram -  but thanks

Shaun,

Is it your book in the discussion that is being questioned, or is it a book you are selling? I got lost in the conversation and dont know if your talking about your book meaning the book above that started the convo, or the examples. Which autograph was certed through PAAS? One of the ones i posted or the one that started the thread. If its one of the ones i posted i will get rid of it promptly, as with the reputation PAAS has and the items i have seen from them, it draws alot of doubts, and i would want to post a better example. The ones posted above are from some samples off ebay that fit the mold as far as the style i am used to seeing.

I chose to incorporate an older example because it still has the flow and traits that i think are consistent even today. I checked your pic and the second example looks good to me and the others probably too, i just opened the one though due to server problems. Even with the ones you posted though and the ones i posted, The R still doesnt look right. The R's in originals that i ahve seen have smoothness and sharp tone, while the above one looks slowly drawn around the R and doesnt look typical at all to what i am used to seeing.

But it could be authentic, but i would pass on the item.

And Ted is a really good guy and extremely knowledgeable. I have learned quite a bit from reading his posts.

Sorry my book is not the book you are questioning at top signed in black on chamber book ? My mistake !!!  I dont trust this ted fellows word against the book ?  In any case  its not mine and i wouldnt buy it either. Notice me holding a hallows book signed.  I was there to meet Jk rowling in person.  I dont buy rubish books without documentation.

I have seen this example in photo listed above - so it still looks real to me and bookbids books.

. She has many different styles.  some are rushed and some are signed with more care.  And all hologramed books from event are legit and psadna or PAAS is hardly wrong.

NOr is heritage auction house that verifed all my books for consignment .   ?  That is a 1997 style signature like my bloombury bookplate attached to PS 1st ed

.   Have your opinions and enjoy  cheers

Those are some nice examples and what i like. On your items i didnt mean that if you had a book certed by PAAS that it was bad. They do cert good stuff, i just wanted to make sure i wasnt using an example certed by them b/c of what i have seen come from them. The hologram is a great sign of authenticity if everything else is there, and it will be a bad day when forgers can duplicate them.

Their still is something very off about that R to me in the example posted that i dont see in anything you or I have posted. But i respect your opinion on the matter and you have some nice examples.

Thank you.  Sorry to sound like a jerk =)

I sent you a rare photo with signature on it by jk rowling....

I think looks alot like the one in Question although this photo was sent from Jk rowling Pa office years ago and is real belive it or not  also My hallows Us version is with hologram as well and also a ODD signature that i saw done in person by Jk and i own 2 hallows books signed NO uk =(

I think ive been telling you wrong this whole time Shaun, My concern was actually with the L i suppose. I had always called the second hump in her signature her R, but it really isnt. I dont know why i got in that habbit, but i need to correct it. Specifically i didnt like the upper stroke of the second hump (L), it just looked off and slowly drawn to me.

Those are some nice signatures, and quite rare. Great job!

Thank you kindly,

In regards to the top signature i wouldnt pay much for if anything - it since it has no proof of any kind.  I wouldnt buy the Jk and mary granpre signed book since i know they didnt signed in the same room at any time i know about.  Looks big and sloppy but i could very well be mistaken. It is hard to say without the proper authentication stickers . I tend to buy bookplates as they are signed only by jk rowling. This is true about bookplates also - They must be signed on Bloomsbury or schoolastic bookplates onto a blank sticker or 4x6 color artcard signed. also bookplate must be without the words "Complaments of Jk rowling" some are not the original as im sure you know.  thanks for your time and best wishes.   ALso this is a funky looking signature  although very real indeed.

Hi Shaun, Thanks for all your info on genuine J.K.Rowling autographs. I like the idea of collecting bookplates also as it seems a much more trust source. What is the best way getting a signed bookplate by JKR or do you have one that you could sell? (just not the funky one at the bottom asAndrew thinks it's fake!)
