The letter is written on a Robert Fraser Gallery letterhead and dated september 5, 1969.
The handwriting changes quite a lot between the beginning and the end of the letter (in attached files you'll find 3 samples of this letter, one from the beginning, one from the center and one from the end). I know Lennon was trying to stop his addiction to heroin a this very moment (perhaps it can be an explanation?).
The signature is also very unusual.

This is NOT John Lennon (of The Beatles) autograph, Sorry. Hope this helps.
Thank you Brian. That is what I feared because of the many differences in the handwriting and the very unusual signature. The man who receive this letter was a French fan of John Lennon. He finds John Lennon address in a magazine (in fact I imagine it was the Robert Fraser Gallery address) and wrote to him and received later this letter. It comes with the envelope postmarked London 5 sept 1969. So, even if it's not written by Lennon himself, it's not a modern fake. But who has written this letter? Could it be Robert Fraser himself? It's a kind of little mystery I would like to solve. I add the pictures of the entire letter if it can help.
Nope....not THE John Lennon of The Beatles...
Thank you Jim for your input. But who has written this letter?
Anyone else?
