Hey, I am thinking of selling a Bulls 1990-91 banner on ebay for my girlfriend... signed by Jordan and Pippen and 2 other Bulls... it was originally bought for over 1000 I think... I have another authentic Jordan signature on my own card, and my signature looks kinda different...

Banner worth at least 1200 I assume because it was I think the banner they hung for a Bulls championship parade...

It is possible that the angle he was signing on effected the swooping motion on his "M" for example, there are more jagged lines than on my Jordan auto card...

Also, the fact that the signatures are faded I assume effect the value?

Something in me also doubts they would forge a banner that alone might be worth over $800 without any signatures...

She refused to get a C.O.A. because it was $100 for PSA plus shipping and it is over 4 pounds. can I sell without a COA? Thanks!

I almost think assume it would be a harder sell than a Fleer Jordan rookie, game worn items, or signed official basketball... banner is more specialized so would take longer to sell?

Jordan looks off to me, but it can be a very rushed signature. I'd let others give you a better opinion, if not just get a PSA quick opinion, I feel like they're good with Jordans.

Thanks, appreciate it, also noticed more jagged lines especially in the Michael, less a of a circular fluid motion than others...

Yes possible that he was rushed and it being a large banner was probably harder to reach over and sign...

what do you mean by PSA quick opinion? is there a site I go to for that?

I'm meaning towards Not authentic although the Jordan has characteristics of a in person quick MJ auto.
My concern is with the Michael

On the quick opinions - I've seen psa fail real in person quick MJ autos that they would definitely pass with a full inspection so I'm not sure if that would help you but it's worth a shot

Yes definately fake, I researched tons of Jordan and Pippen autos on ebay and none have jagged lines in the M, the M has circular, fluid motion... also at the end, Jordan always finishes far right of signature with a horizontal line going directly straight... in hers, the line cuts upwards, inconsistent of Jordan't authentic signature... Pippen's is definately fake too as the line under P in Pippen swoops all the way to the left in her fake auto on the banner....

Does anyone know the value of this banner unsigned? I may be able to wash off the signatures as since they are fake that will decrease the value of the banner... I think even without the Jordan auto, it may be worth close to the same amount, being that the banner itself is rare and issued by the mayor and hung in the streets of Chi, possibly during a victory parade.

I think a signed one with psa recently went for 700 on eBay.
They aren't that rare
People normally start them with a ridiculous buy now price but at ebay auction they don't go too high
Longtime Jordan and bulls collected here.
I have seen similar banners sell for over $1000 unsigned. Have also saw them sell for $300.
Just depends where you choose to sell.

I not 100% convinced it is fake. Every surface is different. How many banners do the guys sign and like you or someone else mentioned its a long reach to sign over these.

To me the Horace Grabt doesn't look good but I can't see it properly to say 100%.

I would definately do a quick opinion before trying to remove the sigs.
If it was PSA authentic I think it could add another 1000 to the price possibly.

OK Thanks I guess I will do a quick opinion, do you know how reliable the quick opinion is?

The reason I am so convinced it is fake is that I found 2 obvious inconsistencies with the Jordan signature and another 2 with the Pippen one... and these looked blatantly obvious... like Pippen's the swoop under the S comes out like an extra inch or more to the left of the above the top part of the S.... The Jordan M not only looks like jagged lines, but it also looks very sloppy... the most telling sign again of the Jordan is that I have NEVER seen a Jordan auto with the last line not going horizontal...but upwards instead...

Hard to say if this being a banner, it became awkward to lean over and sign... I think even for a banner, all 4 of the autographs look unusually sloppy... not to mention the ink is not sharpie but a strange brown color.

I guess I will get a quick opinion, thanks a lot!

This is the 90-91 championship which I guess was their first, don't know if that adds or decreases the value...

Would definately add to value being the 1st.

And all your points are valid about the sigs. I'm definately not saying either way 100% though. I'd be leaning 50-50. Only for the fact it is a banner.
I don't know what material it is but looks maybe like vinal or something which is also very hard to sign.

I have seen 100% authentic upper deck autographs from MJ on things like hats and baseballs and bats and helmets that are terrible and a lot worse then this in a lot of ways. You wouldn't touch them if not for the fact they were upper deck.
They are so bad because MJ wasn't used to signing them. Imagine if this is only 1 of a hand full of banners he ever signed.

Ok Thanks... depending on who you ask, even at PSA, you may even get a different answer... with this item, it is almost like even if the quick answer leaned towards yes, I still wouldn't be totally convinced because I have never seen a Jordan auto close to this odd looking...

The only thing it kinda has going for it is who the hell would forge signatures on a banner already that valuable?

As an avid Jordan collectors the only part in comfortable with is actually the "Jordan"
You can see a lot of in person autos that look like that. The line doesn't eliminate it at all
If the michael was slightly different, especially the M, id be more comfortable

I concluded that it was fake... Pippen and Jordan both had more than 1 inconsistency... Jordan of course is the essential autograph... the "M" in Michael to me is the biggest question mark by far... I have seen Jordan autos sloppy on cards/hats/etc. and the M ALWAYS had that circular loop unlike this one...regardless if he was at a tough angle, no circular motion at all, just jagged lines... Even the J in Jordan looks less circular and loopy than normal...

I suggested that she rub off the signatures... she didn't even want it authenticated... wanted to just sell "as is" without a return policy on ebay... idiotic...
She is just trying to find some sucker....Also, to get a quick opinion, I think I have to list the auction online with pics before they even look at it.
