Lew Wallace author of Ben-Hur - Real or Fake?

Apparently he is signing here with is real name Lewis Wallace

He was the author of Ben-Hur this handwiritng is in the book apparently signed by him.

He also was Union general in the American Civil War and governor of New Mexico Territory

Could you help me please?
