Hi, Folks,
Any opinions on the authenticity of this signed golf ball?
Thanks,
Pete

Peter, I have to agree with CEE GEE and Mr. Zipper on this one. by all means, send it to PSA. I know that signing on a golf ball is challenging, but the signature seems off to me. The M's do not look right. In fact, there is not a lot about the signature that is consistent with the authentic examples that have been represented on this site. You will have no problems finding a legitimate Mantle signature, there are hundreds of them for sale. I would suggest getting one on a baseball or photo. something that is easier to authenticate. good luck!
The best thing to do is send it to either PSA/DNA or James Spence for authenication. There are so many forged Mantle signatures on the market that it is getting ridiculous. With this being a golf ball and the difficulty there is in signing them it might be hard to prove whether ot not it's legit or not. One thing you might be able to check out the age of the golf ball if that is possible. Good luck.
Thanks again for the advice, guys. I'll send it to PSA and cross my fingers. I like oddball signed items. So, if this ends up being authentic, it will fit in well in my collection. Wish me luck.
Pete
