I used to own this same shot, autographed by Maris, and it really is a nice, authentic Maris signature.  But I have seen this for years, being advertised as his 61st HR when in reality, it cannot be, and is most likely #60.

The catcher in the photo, has a Baltimore Orioles uniform. If you ever get a chance to see this photo, you will see that the "B" sticking out of his chest protector, is a scripted "B", which were the Orioles away uniforms. if it were #61, it would be a block "B", which were the red sox away uniforms then.

I know this is a minor point, but it has always bugged me that this photo has been misrepresented for years.  Again, the signature is not in question, it is perfect.

WOW!!  Roger Maris was one of only 2 Baseball players I collected cards of.  I'm glad to see authentic examples on ebay but I hate they are priced like this.  Hard telling how many copycat forgeries this will cause.
