I believe this is a stamped autograph.
When you enlarge the autograph, the uniform bleed indicates it is stamped and not a live autograph.
It does appear to be a stamp of his early autograph based on the formation which looks correct.
It is possibly an autopen as the pen pressure would be the same throughout the autograph and that would explain the even bleeding and the impression going through to the back of the photo.
Either way, I don't think it is an authentic Jordan autograph but that is just my opinion.
As far as the letter formation, it looks like his autograph late at UNC or in his early NBA days so if it is a live signature, I would say "likely authentic."
I would search and see if you can find an identical photo with an autograph and see if they are an exact match.
Randy, good call on looking for similar photos. I didn't locate the exact basketball image, but this link leads to a baseball one that seems to have the same exact stamp/autopen signature!

These were secretarial stamped pieces and or autopens...All of them have that Tell tail as randy pointed out.
