Mickey Mantle Question

Ok I have been looking and studying the signature for a few weeks now and reading a lot on this site.

My question is, why are all of the Mickey signatures (on flats) in the same blue marker?  Did Mantle only sign in this marker in this ink? If so why?

Also from all of the baseballs I have seen they all appear to have the same color or style of ink.

Was this done on purpose?

Mantle mostly signed in blue I have heard....but I do not know for sure....

Blue pen/marker is typically the preferred writing instrument. Most of these autographs are from shows under ideal circumstances.
