Well, I went and had dinner with the family and came back with the original post being deleted. So I really don't know what was said except for the first one or two sentences of each post that was in the notifications in my email addy. From what I can gather Carl's request was genuine and I can really appreciate that. All I was asking for was some info. I truly didn't know if he was in this forum or not. I was just going from what I found on the net.

Carl, I hope you can understand that the different names concerned me. You even admitted that you used the name "Chris Sink" here when you first joined. You also used that name on the envelope you sent me along with "Chris Ryan" in the letter. I posted the letter in the original thread that shows this. You also use a different name here in this forum, "Carl Ryan" along with an Ohio address. The letter you sent me has a address to Scott Depot, West Virginia. On top of it all....you buy and sell.......AUTOGRAPHS!!   LOL  Again, can you see why I would be concerned? If you were in my shoes I think you would feel the same.

Now I have received these types of requests before from scammers. Usually they are send via email(just got one this week). I have researched and found that they want signatures for reasons I don't think are moral. I gladly give out my sig to fans with no apprehension BUT not to those who want to profit by it. I'm very aware of identity theft and the like so I am VERY VERY careful. If the letter had ONE name that would have been a lot clearer. Instead, I'm dealing with somebody using 3 names. Now you are a grown man, you try to stop forgeries, can you see the red flags you yourself raised?

Again, I apologize if I offended you. If you want, I will keep the little card you sent me to sign or I will send it to you, signed. It's up to you. You can also contact me through my website. I would also advise that you keep your temper in check. Mistakes happen, you make 'em, I make 'em......WE ALL MAKE THEM!! Learning to forgive and move on is a great thing.

Mr. Boyack,

I accept your apology, but please know that i no longer wish your autograph or any correspondence from you in the future. I was a very big fan of your playing, and you are still a tremendous guitarist, but they way you treated me is not something i want anything to do with.

You could have contacted me many different ways, from facebook, to phone, and you probably could have gotten my email with a little detective work. I would have been glad to show you just what a fan i was. And no i dont see any red flags at all. In all due respect, your autograph really isnt in demand. I have no doubts people ask for it, but there is one on ebay up right now for 10 dollars and has been for a while. I hesitated to buy it b/c it is coming out of Australia i believe, and i dont know if its authentic. So, if i was trying to get an autograph to scam from you and resale, wouldnt i pick an autograph that people are really paying top bucks for?

You refer to me as a buyer and seller of autographs, and yes i have sold autographs before. Have i sold any in basically over a year?? No. And when i did sale, my items came from places like RR auction, autographworld, and occasionally graphs i picked up on ebay. They werent autographs i snatched through the mail to resale. And most went to members here on this site who can vouch for me.

Why i might initially think it was strange me signing different names, i happen to know just how i sent your item out, as its the same way i have sent out every other request. I signed my name Chris Ryan, which is how i professionally sign items. I will either right it Chris Sink, or Christopher Ryan. I go by my middle name almost always which is 2 words, Carl Ryan. I currently live in WV as the Ohio address no longer applies, i moved with work. I have a rubber stamp i bought from office depot that you have to design yourself. There are only 3 lines, and to place the letter tablets in, and i cant fit it all in 3, the way i have the zip code. So i just have it as my address. I then write in my name above each stamped address. I always sign it Chris Sink, as if there should be some confusion, the USPS might not know who Carl Ryan is, since its not my full name. And as i was being professional in my letter, i signed it Chris Ryan. If you would have gotten ahold of me in many ways, i woudl have gladly shared that info with you. But you didnt. To be frank, you came to this site, made me look like a fool for asking you for an autograph and sending you a letter, and embarassed me, . You then revealed a private letter i sent you that revealed a medical condition i suffer from for everyone to see.

I actually have the item i sent you saved on my desktop. Its a 4 by 6 picture, i saved off of google image, and then printed on crappy HP photo paper on my inkjet printer. The pixel quality is crap, and the photo is home printed, and thus of such quality, that no one would buy it, even if i wanted to sell it. If i was trying to scam autographs from you, wouldnt a send at least a quality picture. And not a crappy home print job b/c thats all i can afford?

I got your address from peoplesmart. Its just an online phone book for the most part. You have to pay a small fee, but its a great tool. I hardly was trying to stalk anyone, i wanted to try and get my letter to you, hoping you might appreciate what i had to say, but i was wrong.

I am over talking to you as a hurt fan, and now am addressing you like I would anyone else. I find what you did appauling and unprofessional in the utmost sense. If you took the time to create an account here, you could have taken the time to message me to find out from the source, or a number of other things. Instead you humiliated me. I accept your apology though.. Please discard my autograph request. It may not mean much to lose a fan, but you certainly have with me, and that wont be forgotten.

I wish you the best Mr. Boyack, but frankly there is no reason to correspond to one another any time, now or in the future.

Chris Carl Ryan Sink

Thank you for the response Carl, if I may call you that……

“but they way you treat people is not something i want anything to do with."

In all honesty and respect, you have no clue how I treat people.

"You could have contacted me many different ways, from facebook, to phone, and you probably could have gotten my email with a little detective work. I would have been glad to show you just what a fan i was. And no i dont see any red flags at all."

You could have also sent me an email addy w/ your letter. But you didn't. I checked Facebook and could not find a "Chris Ryan" or a "C. Ryan". Just because you don't see red flags doesn't mean I or others will not. And since you are the one who are comfortable using different names I can see why you would not see it as a problem. No big deal, we just don't agree.

"In all due respect, your autograph really isnt in demand."

LOL Yeah, you are probably right about that but before I became a touring musician I working in the banking industry, in Credit to be exact. I know how identity theft works. A sig is almost everything. Also, I hate scammers.....I F@#KING hate scammers. Not that I am saying you are one. But it is a pet peeve of mine.

"The pixel quality is crap, and the photo is home printed, and thus of such quality, that no one would buy it, even if i wanted to sell it."

These details are foreign to me. I didn't know that.

"I hardly was trying to stalk anyone, i wanted to try and get my letter to you, hoping you might appreciate what i had to say, but i was wrong"

Where did I even say you were trying to stalk me? I never even thought that.

"I am over talking to you as a hurt fan, and now am addressing you like I would anyone else."

You should always treat me like anyone else, with respect like I am with you. You putting me or any of the other Blues artists you like (and many who I know personally. Joe Kubek lives 2 blocks away from me along with guys like Jim Suhler and Mike Morgan) on some pedestal is not needed.

"I find what you did appauling and unprofessional in the utmost sense."

Dude, you really need to get out more.       lol

"I accept your apology, but if this is the way you treat your fans, its amazing you have gotten anywhere in the entertainment industry."

That's a funny way to accept an apology but I guess that's how they do it from whatever country you are from. And seriously....with ALL the due respect I can muster, you know nothing about the "entertainment industry".

Again, lighten up. Life is way to short. I have gone ahead and read many of the posts you present here and many, if not nearly all are negative. You have a lot of hate in you. It's just not healthy and deprives you of the good things in life. The Bleeding Heart routine does the same thing. When I was younger I used to hear people say that a person uses a lot of energy hating others and being miserable. They were so right.

I hope you get over this personal injustice I have caused you and that someday we can be friends.

I'm done......and I gave the photo to my daughter to hang in her locker at school. Thanks.

Also, thanks to Steve Cyrkin for letting me invade his site.

Carl, I knew that post would bug you. He made his point of why he was skeptical and apologized. Many here never do. Hope you can look beyond it. You have a chance to talk with one of those folks you've admired. Rare opportunity.

Thanks Rick! I got your apology and I accept it.

On a side note I used to play Warsaw Wally's back in the day with Bill Tarsha and the Rocket 88's as well as the Rhythm Room. I was thrilled at the time to play with my hero Brian Fahey who plays with the Paladins and used to live in the area.

Much respect!

Pat B

Thanks Pat. Your a good player and I don't think you suck. Actually a big fan of blues players. Carl is a friend of mine and folks come in her attacking members all the time. Hopefully this misunderstanding is put to rest by all.

Carl, having appreciated your posts here, I also hope you'll put it behind you.  No one thinks any less of you.

I didn't see the original posts. but things happen...people make mistakes.

I also like Pat Boyack's work, having seen him most recently with Marcia Ball.  At the very least we know he came to a reputable autograph site to respond.
