Nirvana signed Bleach Album Cobain, Krist, and Dave Real or Fake?

I do not believe this to be authentic.  I can not find much about Hamilton Bland or Autographs of the World.  Anyone have a different opinion? This album is being sold by one of the auction houses.

Real or Fake?

I do not think you meant to post this here

No, I did not. Having trouble trying to post a comment with a picture on the website home page.

Nirvana Bleach is not authentic.

Every US copy of Bleach from the 90s has the text "NIRVANA" way up high, right against the top edge of the record jacket, sometimes actually going over the top. The fact that there is still a gap between the text and the top edge... and it's matted in a frame? I would bet, if you took that out and turned it around you would see a barcode on the jacket and a subpop url in the fine print. Those didn't come out until 2000. Yes, the signatures are pretty far off too, but it's easier to debunk if you just date the record.

It wouldn't be the first time that I've seen a modern repress of an album "signed" by Kurt. I saw a guy on facebook marketplace selling a copy of In Utero that was "signed" by the band. It was a repress from 2009.

Sorry to belabor the point, but.... I decided to pull out my Bleach collection and look for other tell tale signs that the album is from after Kurt's death. Looks like the original pressings from 1989 and 1992 were cropped slightly differently. Look at the 12 fret of Kurts guitar on the cover, to the left of the title "BLEACH" and just at the bottom edge of the photo. On original pressings from Sub Pop and Tupelo, and colored represses from '92, the second dot of the 12 fret is visible. In later represses from 2000 and beyond, the photo is cropped a bit more from the bottom, and you can't see that second dot. I'm going to close the case on this. FAKE! Tell the seller this is irredeemably fake and should be destroyed.

Thanks for the details.  This was listed in a Heritage Auction but they have since pulled it.  I never thought this was real.  I like the details around authentic copies of Bleach as well.

I like saying, I will pay $40,000 for a Kurt Cobain signed copy of Unplugged.
