OSCAR TAVERAS dead........Now watch the scumbags poor the forgeries on eBay

You will see so many new listings for Oscar Taveras tomorrow it won't even be funny.  These scum will drive to Wal Mart and buy a bucket of baseballs and have them all forged out just in time to catch all the people looking to get one for their collection.  It's a shame.

I have my Oscar collection complete now.  I have been collecting him from the beginning of 2012.  Such a shock.  Prayers to his family.

horrible loss for MLB.  many sellers pulled their items last night, most likely to relist at ridiculous prices.

a guy last night told me he was striking while the iron is hot.  What a bastard

I'm interested in what Celebz Direct does (celebzdirect22 on eBay) as they have tons of Taveras game worn and signed items since he was an exclusive athlete of theirs.

The vultures will be out on Ebay unloading all their Taveras forgeries

In regards to Celebz Direct, all their Oscar items are authentic, I'm just wondering whether they'll be "dumping" them all now.

Similar to Tony Gwynn a few months ago... Anytime a celeb/athlete dies this happens. Happened with Gandolfini, Robin Williams, etc. Oscar's autographed cards sold at a premium even while he was alive because he was such a great prospect with very high potential. I assume those cards will go up even more, as he won't be signing anymore. Long term value? Hard to say.

I personally don't have a problem with people selling their Oscar cards today, it's their property and everyone has a right to profit if they wish. But the forgeries coming out are the true scumbags of the Earth...

Just got back from the local card shop & the owner told me a guy walked in this morning & wanted to buy a few cases of blank baseballs & all his base Taveras cards.

Funny how eBay seller thumper114 magically has 10+ Oscar Taveras "autographs" for $40 BIN

this one may be good.

I purchased an Oscar Taveras signed 11x14 for 18 bucks a month ago.  40 bucks doesn't sound to bad when a month ago I could have purchased this for 18.....sidsgraphs has tons of Oscar Taveras signed memorabilia.  Bats, balls, etc.  He raised his prices 10 dollars.  I don't know its going to be a mess for awhile for sure.

Yeah and Oscar's "autograph" is a mess to begin with making the bad stuff even harder to identify... For folks looking to pick up an Oscar piece, I would recommend an on-card autograph from Bowman/Topps, etc. The most valuable card for him is going to be his first Bowman Chrome autograph, no doubt about it.

2014 Topps Chrome RC auto of him came out recently, and was going for $15ish... Today, they are going for $50+.... Yikes.
