Just a quick question.... Is there a good forum out there for those interested in collecting memorabilia (stage worn or stage played instruments) from the major groups. Items can be signed or not necessarily. As a follow up is there good dealers in this type of material. Thanks for any help.

Megadeth has an eBay account.  They sell off equipment after tours end.  Eddie Van Halen personally striped 300 guitars before the last 2 Van Halen tours.  He played them on stage, signed them, and then sold them.  The prices on those went between  $ 7,500.00 to $50,000.00.

On Dec. 18 (3 days from now) Profiles in History is having a HUGE auction of some really interesting items.  On of Van Halen's Frankenstrats (a Kramer), Jim Morrison's hand written poetry...etc.  Van Halen's guitar is expected to bring between $ 100,000.00 to $ 150,000.00 but who knows.

Here is the link to their auction catalog

Getting to know roadies seems the only way besides auctions to get instruments unless you know the actual musician.  If you find out about a forum please post it or send me a message about it.

Not a forum but Megadeth's new store on eBay just listed a Dave Mustaine signed guitar.  It is Dave's guitar.  eBay item number 171199787335.  It has been up for 2 1/2 days and already has 90+ bids and is at $ 3500.00.  The listing's title is:

MEGADETH- Rare Dave Mustaine Autographed Dean Zero XO Guitar #42/50 Discontinued
