I would like to have your opinion about the following:

Last month I bought on Ebay a signed check of the great rock and roll producer Phil Spector. The seller stated that the item was purchased in 1997 from William Linehan Autograph Co. He also sent me a scan of the original page from the Linehan catalogue. However, after having bought the check (for 140$), I've read very bad things about Linehan (he was also expelled from uacc...). Should I worry about my Phil Spector autograph? And - by the way - is it common to find a counterfeit signed check?
