Hi Everyone,

I am new to this site, but I have been a lover and collector of autographs my whole life. I'm in need of help to identify an autograph of mine. It is the only one in my collection that I am uncertain of who signed it. Here is the back story:

Last year I had passes to sit in a suite for a Jets game. In the suite were several former Jets players (Burgess Owens, Emerson Boozer, Randy Beverly, etc). After Owens had signed my item, he handed it to a another former player that was sitting next to him to sign. The problem is, I have no idea who this other man was. Everyone I asked was unaware as well.

He looked to be about 50ish and black. My closest guess was that it might have been Otis Smith, but I really don't think that is right. I've tried looking on google, sorting team rosters, everything you can imagine and still no luck.

If anyone has any idea who this is or might be, and can shine some light on it I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much in advance.

-Joe

It's also possible that you got punked as a joke by the players, they're human too and a little humor now and then never hurts

Hey Drew,

That certainly could be possible. I just didn't think it was likely. All other players signed perfectly. I hope that's not the case. =(

Yea, I don't know Jets, especially old Jets sigs, maybe someone else will, but the big downer is that it doesn't look like the person even tried to write a sig, it almost looks like the end result of a long phone conversation when you have a marker in your hand, just a random squiggle. At least most athletes will give a solid first letter before a jumble. Most being the keyword. Good Luck!

You're right. I could have written my name better with my foot. My best guess is that the name begins with an "O"? In the middle of the scribble/signature, it looks like there could either be a "7" or maybe a "4." Who knows.
Thanks for your thoughts. Hopefully this will jump out at someone.
