Problem with signature stuck to protective sleeve - help??

Hello All -

I recently got something I sent off to get signed - they put them in the protective sleeves to soon and the signature is 1/2 on the sleeve.

Have you ever dealt with this?? Is there a way to transfer back to the photo.. ideas??  Are they just totally ruined?  Should I frame them in the protective sleeve??  They line up pretty well..

I have emailed the company so I am waiting to see if they make it right before I name them.  The main problem I have is I invested a lot in getting the others to sign the photos.

thanks with any input.  Totally screwed can be input.. lol  :)

Silver paint pen takes quite a while to dry, and there is no way to reverse the damage now.

If the company has regular access to BDW, send them a nice note about the problem and tell them you would like to remove the remaining paint off the photos and resubmit them for signing.

Thanks Pete for the comment.  I am not sure I can remove the ink of completely from the photos, since they are not glossy.  They have a mat finish to them…

But your idea sounds good.  I just hope that I can totally remove the signature.

thanks!

hi Mark, you can still remove the ink on mat finish same as glossy but on mat you can't leave it to long if your are gonna remove it

What do you recommend removing it with??

thanks for the reply

I would use what I use on glossy images a dry wipe maker what is a white board pen, to go over the paint pen on the image and then wipe off with a micro fibre cloth and you should be fine with that I would not use anything else than that.

Lighter fluid and a rag will make quick work of removing whats left, and assuming I know the company you use, you should have no problem getting them re-done.

thanks!

They appear to be Official Pix photos.....so you are in luck. As long as the photo is Lab produced, not a computer print or and not a litho like OP used at the Celebrations , these will be simple to remove.

Your choice of Goof Off, Goo Gone, Lighter Fluid, Nail Polish remover, etc etc. along with a box of tissues or Q-Tips , or a soft T-shirt that you wont ever wear again.

dampen the Tissue or T-shirt with your elixir of choice, and wipe gently just over the area you wish to remove. Switch out for clean tissues or clean spots on the shirt so you don't smear the ink around, and you should have no problem at all.

I use Ronsonol lighter fluid and a Q-tip for the first swipes, to get the heaviest paint off. Then switch to Tissues....I like Kleenex (none of that greasy Puffs stuff)

Then when I am done, I fill my Zippo and ....smoke 'em if you got 'em.

The back of the photos says "Fujicolor Crystal Archive Paper"

Yep, you are fine....all Official Pix Holo'd images are photo lab produced.

My guess is Coolwaters, which happens to be BDW's signing agent....I am pretty sure you won't have an issue with them. Just be sure to save the images above to show them the damage, and they will likely have no problem getting them resigned for you.

thanks Pete!

Williams probably used a crap, slow drying pen.
