This one has been bothering me for a while. Again, this is not a reflection on the seller, as he/she is is presenting this listing in good faith.

It is my opinion, that this Yaz ball in the first photo is not authentic.  But I am not presenting this to bash PSA or anyone.  All authenticators make mistakes, and I believe this is one of them.  But if you look at this authenticator's other Yaz items, a very high percentage of them are authentic.  This is the case with any reputable TPA.

We are dealing with opinions.  If you compare ebay now to two years ago, or even more recently, the percentage of bogus items has dropped dramatically.  I believe the TPA's do deserve some credit for this, as does Ebay for banning certain COA's.

I have attached an authentic Yaz, also authenticated by PSA/DNA for comparison.  The differences may be subtle, but they are there.

All opinions and comments are welcome.

What I would LOVE to see with potential forged PSA/JSA/GAI, etc would be if they offered a system to track them. I.E. go to the site and register ownership/possession/transfers as a collector or dealer. This way they can say ##### is owned by John Doe in San Diego California, and this item has been in his possession since 1998, and the guy saying he had it signed in person in 2008 is full of feces.

it might have been Mounted Memories, I can't remember now because it was over ten years ago, that actually had a system where you could transfer ownership and get a new COA.  It looked like a credit card and actually had your name and address on it.

Drew,

You are lucky if they can enter the items they authenticate into the database in a timely manner none the less track down the transfer of ownership. The TPA's just authenticate and collect money then move on to the next item.
