I just purchased this "Hank Aaron" for VERY cheap.... of an older person selling off his entire collection. He claims he acquired the autograph personally.... so with my naive nature I believed him.

It has some traits of a genuine Aaron, but some things throw me off. Could this be a very very early signature?

The first A in "Aaron" looks correct... but typically the second one is a more open at the top...
Im about 50/50 on this one.

Any advice?

I don't think there is any chance this is authentic IMO.

Well it was worth a shot! :) What is your basis?

Looks incredibly slowly signed. Terrier is very good with Hank Aaron, perhaps he will chime in.

He lied to you.

If that was an early, early Hank Aaron, that ball probably wouldn't look nearly as pristine and white as it does.

Its actually not nearly as white as the photo... and its on a genuine NL  Bartlett Giametti ball

Well, if it's from the 80's, then it's certainly not an early Hank autograph.

No way.

sorry but this is not even close to being authentic.
