Rites of Autumn; book, Can't figure out signature of colllege football player?

The book is Rites of Autumn by Richard Whittingham, who has since died. The book came out in 2001. So obviously it has to be 2001 or sooner. But I have had a number of people look at this and can't figure it out. Even has the number 12 written after it.

Would be oh so GRATEFUL TO ANYONE WHO FIGURES IT OUT!!!

Looks like it's supposed to be Roger Staubach, but it's awfully slow and shaky looking. Unless his signature has worsened lately, I'm not sure about the authenticity.
