Anyone got in person experience with Robert Plant during his recent tours or other appearances? What is he like nowadays? Is he still signing Led Zeppelin items? Is he easy to approach or he's very fussy and grumpy? Thanks in advance for some feedback!

My wife and I went to see Jimmy Webb in April this year. Jimmy was playing the Cadogan Hall in London and, before the gig I spotted Plant at the bar having a drink with some friends. Knowing his signing habits, I send my wife to try her luck (clever, right ?). It went like this : "Are you Robert Plant ?" she said " No, I'm Noddy Holder ! Now go away !" was his answer ! Still after a good five minutes of begging my lovely wife managed to get his autograph for me ! Plant was at the mixing desk for the opening act by the way ...

Recently, in February of 2015, I paid a guy who belongs to the Wolves Clubhouse to get me a RP autograph.  He did.  However, he told me that it had to be personalized with my name or RP won't do it and he said on the day he got it for me, RP was grumpy.  Same reason, he doesn't want his autograph being used for profit.

Tried in Memphis about two (?) months ago.  First time he stared straight through me, second time no acknowledgment at all.  I even talked to his body guard telling him I wanted to trade a book of my blues photographs for an autograph, the body guard was really nice about it but just laughed, saying it ain't gonna happen, when word gets out that he signed for someone more people will be asking.  BTW, if you are waiting at a hotel & see Justin Adams (guitarist) and Juldeh Camara (African instrumentalist) get their autographs.  They are really good to talk with & I think they really appreciate people recognizing them.  Sure, Robert gets all the glory but his Shape Shifter band is really their band JuJu with Robert singing out front.

Believe it or not, I've managed to get 2 vinyls signed in person by Robert Plant after one of his recent The Sensational Space Shifters concerts. Robert gladly signed his 1983 "The Principle of Moments" solo LP as well as Led Zeppelin's epic "II" album, which I've got autographed by John Paul Jones last year. I would say, if you meet him one on one, just like I did, and he's in a good mood (as he was!), there is very good chance he will sign for you. Also my friend got him to sign "IV" LP at one of the other concerts recently so it's not totally impossible! You just need some luck! Thank to all advices in this threat, btw. It really helped me!

Below are photos of my recent Robert Plant autographs:

Great story, it does look like he is personalizing his autographs.  nothing wrong with that, just an observation.  Very nice, thanks for sharing it.

Donna, I've specifically asked for personalization as I prefer it that way. Zeppelin's II album's been personalized by John Paul Jones though so Robert didn't add anything.

oh, I was thinking that didn't look like RP personalization on LZ II.  very nice.

Good Stuff but would have been outstanding if Mr Plant signed not so close to John Paul Jones sign ! There was plenty of free space ! Still great to have those two on the same album, well done !

Congrats! Great items!
