Robert redford opinions please!!!

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone out there is a Robert Redford expert on his autograph this photo was on a website recently and sold for $399 however it was PSA DNA I have compared the signatures and they look almost the same what concerns me about this one is that at the end of Redford it looks like he stops and starts can anyone please give me an opinion as to if this photo is authentic or not I don't want to spend a lot of money if it is not authentic thank you

You are right to be cautious about Redford. He's elusive, and infamous for being a bad signer. As a result, I'm not sure who claims to be a Redford signature expert - if ever a signature study was needed...

PSA isn't infallible. There are many Redford autographs that seem to be authentic that probably aren't. For example, the contract pictured below (not PSA) is being sold on eBay right now as authentic. It appears to me that both Redford and his wife's names are neatly signed in the same hand, and I doubt it was Robert Redford doing the signing. I've also seen many "authentic" checks that I'm pretty sure were signed by someone else, maybe a wife or a secretary.

Redford can have a very messy signature that probably results, at least in part, by the fact that he is a lefty who writes right-handed. If you check out in-persons, including a PSA-authenticated signed jacket (see below) that is on eBay right now that is probably real, you'll see what I mean. It will be nice if others can someday weigh in on this. I'll be glad to help with samples that I've gathered over the years. Good luck!

I was lucky enough to get Robert Redford when he was in Arizona, there were only 3 people there trying for him and he eventually signed for us.  Every one of the autographs looked slightly different.

I just found the program agenda from the event, I met Robert Redford on September 7, 2013 it was at the Arizona Science Center.  The event was called "Raise the River, Reconnect the Colorado".  Mr Redford had Phoenix cops with him when he arrived and they escorted him into the event and after when he left.  He ignored us when he arrived but we were completely shocked that as he was walking to the town car after he stopped and agreed to sign one each.  He would not take pictures with us but we were just happy that he signed especially with his reputation as a tough graph.

I agree with the comments here, his signature always looks different each time. Some look more rushed than others, some more compact etc. The photo you posted Tim looks okay to me, has some of the usual traits with Redford.
