I just have a quick question. You can buy sealed packages or sealed boxes with trading cards that have autograph cards and special cards. My question is should you open the sealed box or the sealed packages to see whether any of those cards are in them.

To me it would depend on why you bought the cards to begin with. If you bought the cards to get a certain autograph, then you have to open them to see if you got who you wanted. If you bought the box hoping to sell it later at a premium, never open the box or the packages. Most of the signatures in these will be of low dollar value. If you leave it sealed, when you sell you can get close to the value of a premium autograph by people willing to speculate.
