So a team plays in your city, or an event comes to town. You want some items signed... so you go to the airport.

What are the rules for getting sigs at the airport from your fave players?

After a game.. OR! after they have done a show or signing in town.. what are the rules?

I don't know. I've always wanted to try the airport gig but never have. I just don't know when the teams or celebs come off the plane, and I don't want to hang out there all day. I'd love to try it sometime though. I'd love to hear what others have to say about this.
Well, I hate to admit this, but I tried it about three years in a row in Chicago. I used to be a HUGE Seattle Sonics fan. (I say used to because the team moved to Oklahoma City, and the Sonics are now defunct.) I waited at the airport at Midway for the team to arrive, but with no avail. Then, after the game, I followed the bus to the airport, but it went in a special lot with key card access, and I had to turn back. For the NBA, I would say the flights are chartered, making it extremely difficult to snag autographs, unless you happen to work for the airport!
Two years ago every European team used to come through the terminal...now over half go airside and you dont see them at all....an unwelcome change?!?!??!
I have done the airport gig a few times! It works ok for something like a Super Bowl because so many different people come to town the days before to party. I usually get more celebs than stars but if I get football guys it is usually old timers and you do have to wait all day.
Now trying atletes at a paid signing is a no no before the event I am always told I am here to be paid come see me there. However I have had great luck when the show is over and the athletes are leaving because they are no longer under contract for the paid signing. I have got Cal Ripken, Jim Brown and Terry Bradshaw to name a few. leaving they are more relaxed. I have heard that their contract starts as soon as they step off the plane and alot of times the person bringing the athlete to town will have items to sign in the Limo or car they are picked up in so they dont lose any time and get all of their items signed. Hope this helps. Until Next time KEEP GRAPHIN!!!!!!
Years ago I did the LAX airport thing, especially during awards season (Grammy's/Academy/AMA's). Had pretty good luck, but that was all much prior to these TMZ days, and prior to 9/11. Don't see that kind of success happening today, ........at least not here in L.A. .

"where have all the good times gone....."
all sports teams fly private and you will never see them unless you live in a tiny town with a tiny airport, as far as autographs go as long as you arent at one of the major cities like la or new york you should have no problem getting them at the airport, i was at sundance and there were no photographers at the airport i ended up getting 240 photos done in 6 days
