Are all of the Autographs from HOME SHOPPING NETWORK with Tracercode Coa's fake? I'm fully aware of the reputation of these, however I would like more information and discussion about the topic. I saw a Peyton Manning Autographed football yesterday and I didn't make a purchase on it because of what I've heard about HOME SHOPPING NETWORK, I'm not an expert on Manning but it looked good from psa examples i've seen. I would like to research this further. Discussions and Opinions of the topic is appreciated. Thanks

I believe a lot of the autographed items sold on different shopping networks are authentic. Many of them actually had stars such as Mantle and Mays on the shows from time to time hyping the items.

Shop at Home was on for years and sold legitimate autographed material for most of that time. However, near the end of their TV time they were buying their autographs from bad sources and they sold a ton of bad ones at that time so it depends on what time frame the item was sold in their case.

I think the items with the Tracercode cards may have been legitimate. I have owned items with those cards attached that were 100% authentic.

Having said that, there are a lot of Mantle forgeries with a Shop at Home certificate. They are sold on Ebay fairly frequently. I also know they sold a lot of bad Jordan autographs with their certificate. I bought a collection a few years ago with a Jordan autographed jersey that was clearly bad but it had their certificate.

Anything sold in their earlier days with the Scoreboard certificates if they indeed are the item sold with the certificate are most likely legitimate.

If you know autographs, you can buy legitimate examples for half of a third party certified one. Nice Mantle autographs not authenticated by JSA or PSA/DNA that are 100% authentic generally go between $250 -$300 on Ebay.

They would be much cheaper still except for those who know the autograph is legitimate and buy it cheap to then get it authenticated and flip it for a decent profit.

You have to assess the autograph and not the certificate.

Hope this helps.

The Cert card was dated 2001. The signature compared very well with psa examples I was looking at and I think Authentic. I will try to make it to his shop and get a picture of the Peyton Manning football. I will post it here for Opinions to go along with the discussion. Thanks

It is likely authentic.

Also, just to clarify my previous post about Mantle autographs, I was obviously referring to autographed OAL baseballs with the mention of $250-$300 uncertified items. You can buy authentic uncertified Mantle photos usually for $100 or less.
