I have a question. I just ordered a book that is a limited edition signed copy by the author. Are these signatures individually hand signed or are they rubber stamped or autopened etc. Anybody have any experience with these signed  books?

Who are they from? Easton press does this and they are all hand signed?
It is from Harper/Collins
If you ordered them directly from the publisher they should be the real deal, most publishers do sell signed copies so I dont think you have to worry!
I didn't directly buy it from the publisher, I bought it through Barnes and Noble who was selling the signed editions. Thanks for your replies.
sometimes its autopen, other times its handsigned but by a secretary, and sometimes its handsigned by the celebrated personalities...
Is there anyway one can find out if it is autopen? Is it possible to write the publisher, hoping they will tell you?
Post a scan so we can take a peek
Thanks for all the replies. I did find out that it was autopen

BOOK SOUP here in West Hollywood has dozens & dozens of signed books for sale each year signed in person by the author at the store. Their service is 1000% immpecable. Never a worry...........
ALSO, if you cannot make it to a signing event, you can order signed books and they will ship.
Thank you Stephen. Always good to know
As usual, SDuncan provides the most valuable info.
I ordered a Brian May (queen) signed book for a friend of mine that is a Queen nut. Next time I was in LA, I picked it up.

I've purchased books in person there, and ordered them. They get a lot of big names signing.
