Some of my recent self obtained autographs.... / Robert Cray, Steve Miller, Skynyrd.....

Hi there again,

So, lets start this - here I´m going to show some of my recently self-obtained autographs.

First one is a Steve Miller autograph. I know he does have a very nice signature. Well in Munich, Oct, 30 there was no chance to catch him up before the show and I´ve heard from the promoter, that he will leave right after the show for airport. So only way - after the show at the stage. And yes, alot of fans where there and wanted to get their ticket stub signed. I´ve had that Joker album with me and he catched that one up first. Very - sad - he did not wrote his full signature - just that, yes - aweful "curve". I was a little disapointed, as he wrote his full name to some tickets... anyway, It´s now MY Steve Miller and my only one.

Congrats, much better than nothing!

I know.... but its really just a curve.... :-)

going on with the next item - just some days ago I´ve had V.I.P. for RockBand GOTTHARD - I don´t know how much that band is known in the US, but here in Europe, especially in Germany that Rockband from switzerland is big enough to fill venues with about 5K people. They´ve lost their legendary lead singer Steve Lee some years ago - he was killed at a accident on a US highway. It was his dream to do a bike tour through the US and some of the bandmembers been with him. At one day it startet to rain and did make a little break to get on some rain clothes - right at that moment a truck driver slipped on the highway direct and killed him. The now returned with a new singer from Australia called Nic Meader and an really great album. I´ve purchased the ltd. edition (250 orange double LP´s). As I´m doing alot of think in music business, too, I´m having some connections and so I´ve got my VIP ticket. It was easy to collect all of the bandmembers at the after show party. And I really have to say - one of my absolutely best looking an dfavorite signatures of this year. Check out the pics....

More: Robert Cray - collected Oct 12 here in Munich. It was friday and I was there at about 15:30 at the venue. I really like the new album and I know that he is only doing his RC. I´ve brought the vinyl version (sound awesome!) and I thought it would be cool to let him sign a dedication to his signature. So I have more than just the R and the C. It was raining a little bit on that day and I was standing at a "Wuerstelbude" (don´t no the right word in english - its a van where you can buy hot dogs). I was the only guy waiting there and suddenly someone came out of the venue and to the parking place where the tourbus parked. He had an ubrella in his hand and a cap on. I did not recognice him on the first look, but I decided to follow him to the bus. I was waiting just for 2 minutes in front of the bus and then he came out holding a stage shirt in his hand. So I just asked him if he could sign the album. As it was raining a little he just said come on over to the bus and then he signed it in the bus for me. Outside I´ve asked for picture with him. Well he was such a nice person - very cool guy. The show was sold out and he did alot of signings after the show - for all the guys that have been waiting. But he did not sig any dedication at that day to the others. I did collect the other bandmembers after the show, too. I´ve let them signed the back of the LP and also Robert did sign the back once again - in silver!

So, another one. Its going to be METAL! As I´m a musician in an band, too, I like all kinds of music - expect JAZZ. Last week I´ve been at a WASP show in Munich. I did never get Blackie Lawless before and so I was hoping to get him at that day in person. Well, before the show there was no chance to get autographs at the venue. Wasp hat two support bands. The show began at about 22:00 ´o clock and it was finnished at about 23:30. As I did not got any VIP or Meet&Greet (wasnt available...) only chance to get autographs was on the back door or let me say gate to the bus parking place. So I decided to wait even it was really cold outside. Doug Blair and Mike Dupke came out of the venue at about 0:30 and I shouted their names. They signed the album through the gate and I´ve asked for Blackie and Mike Duda. Mike Dupke said, that it would take along time to wait for them, as he doesnt even know where they are. Well, after that I was the only one outside waiting and waiting and waiting until 1:30 (!!!) . Suddenly Mike Duda came out of the venue and signed my album, too. I´ve asked him fo Blackie Laweless, too. I´ve had 3 WASP albums with me. He took my albums inside the venue but said, that he don´t think that he will sign all of these (only 3!!). 5 minutes later he came back with the 3 albums - but Blackie did only signed one of it - the new album. I did not know that is that hard to get Blackie Lawless signature these days.

Oh and I remember I´ve asked the members of the support band Alpha Tiger after the show if they could get me the autographs from Blackie Lawless. i thought that would be easiest way as the band is supporting WASP on 15 shows throughout Europe! But the Alpha Tiger bandmembers told me, that they have been adviced by the tourmanager to not talk to Blackie Lawless on the full tour! Very strange, but I got finally my Wasp signatures...

So, the last story for today and propably the best from me that year. I´ve had an interview with Lynyrd Skynyrd June 5, 2012 here in Munich. I was called early in the morning that I have to do it for radio station here in Munich. At about 14:00 i went to town and brough the first Lynyrd Skynyrd Album (180g reissue - I thought would be a cool idea to have the very first one sigend by Gary, too.

Well, i arrived at the Hotel at about 15:30. Interview begin was dated to 16:00. I was been adviced not to be earlier. So I was waiting outside the hotel at a littel place with a huge red ring sculpture. Well, I sat down at a bench and suddenly I´ve heard on my back a voice saying "hi mom, this is Peter...". I turned around and I saw Peter Keys from Lynyrd Skynyrd talking with his mom in the US. So as he finnished I talked with him a little and shot some pictures and he signed the God & Gons album. I´ve said, that I´m going to have interview with Rickey or maybe with Gary at 16:00.

At 15:55 I opened the hotel door and my contact person came out of another door with Gary Rossington. I´ve talked with the Gary some minutes and let him sign some of my albums incl. the God & Guns album. He said that his wife Carol would love to sign the Return to the Scene of Crime album later, too.

After a while the manager of the band came and ask what I want to do - I said i need about 30 radio station ID´s and a 10 min interview for the radio. So he said, Ricky Medlocke would be best doing the interview and the Radio ID´s. So I was waiting in the chat-room of the hotel, waiting for Rickey. At about 16:15 Ricky came in and we had a very nice talk - he did all my Radio Ids, the interview and I was able to do pics. Also he did sign all my albums - and checked one of an Album that I´ve obtaine some years ago at e-bay where I wanted his opinion. Well, he did say that its authentic, but I´m still thinking of it, that its a fake. I will post that one in another thread - would be glad to have your opinion too, on that one. This thread is just for the GOOD ITEMS! So, after the interview he asked me for my full name and said, that I´m on the guest list at the venue (+1). At about 18:00 i arrived at the venue and I was quiet surprised, that I got Meet&Greet with the band. A long time friend of mine from Slovenia traveld extra for that show to Munich and I gave him the second ticket! We were the only two guys with Meet&Greet at that day! Half an hour before Lynyrd Skynyrd show we had the Meet & Greet incl. Pictures with the whole band. Well, we have been adviced not to ask for autographs as they wont do it before the show. But as Rickey saw me again, he did sign some more and Peter told Johnny Van Zantd that I´m the one from the hotel before. So all the other bandmembers did sign the God&Guns album, too. Specially I´m very proud of the VanZant album - these are two of my favorite album of all time. After the show the have left immediately by bus to the airport. Nobody else were able to catch up autographs that day from Lynyrd Skynyrd ..... highlight . the God&Guns album signed by 6 (!). Only missing signature on that album is the new bass player...

At least you got him.  He didnt sign for me the one time I met him after a TV show appearance and I have heard he is a very tough signature to obtain, so congrats!

Lets continue - dow anyone now MAGNUM? One of my alltime favorit album is ON A STORYTELLERS NIGHT. I cannot count and remember how often I´ve been at a Magnum concert. Anyway, Magnum just released a new album called On the 13th Day and surprisingly it charted here in Germany and is some other countys. Means its one of the most selling Magnum albums ever. The new albums sounds more heavier than any other Magnum album in the past, not only because of Bob Catley´s voice getting little bit older an much more rougher. Also the band tuned down the guitars for Bob, so that he is able to sing much more rougher. November 7, I´ve been at the concert here in Munich and after the show I´ve had meet&greet (for free..) with the band. I was able to obtain some really nice signatures from the band on the album as well as on some other albums. Here are the two highlights:

Next one:

I was able to catch up signatures from Halestorm here in Munich on Oct 10, 2012. It was Lizzy Hales birthday, so I knew that there will be a very long after show party going on. Also Lizzy had a bad cold that day so It was clear to me she wont signe my vinyl version of the new album. They have sold the new CD fully signed on the merch, but I wanted the band to sign the vinyl incl. the insert. So I waitet outside after the show about 30 minutes and talked to merch assistent lady as she came out. She said, that the band is partying and will not come out for the next 2 hours. So I´ve asked her to take my items with her. After 5 minutes she came back and I got my items sigend by the band incl. dedication to MARTY.... Nice items of a band, that will be propably very BIG in future...

some more of my collection. Lets start with Mastodon - a prog rock / heavy band. They´ve done heavy-rock album of the year in many magazine polls with THE HUNTER. I have both vinyl versions signed by the band - obtained in person here in Munich after a show. The "black" cover version is meanwhile hyperrare and I´ve seen some of these at ebay without autographs for over 200€ (about 230$).

This one is a Vaughan Brothers album signed by Jimmy - the first time that i used that red ink pen. It looks stunning.... this one I´ve obtained after Munich show July 12, 2010!

Here some items just for showing - all obtained here in Munich - all vinyls:

So - i´m back again! Collectet MOLLY HATCHET on Wednesday here in Munich! Dave Hlubek is with the band again so I´ve had alot of classic Molly albums with me. Actually I have collectet full touring line up on ea. of the albums - expect the Danny Joe Brown album - only signed from Bobby Ingram and John Galvin.

Lets start with some pictures from the concert that I´ve taken!
