Hello :)

Autographs newbie here, I’ve been reading as much as I can before buying one.

I’ve seen many times that Tracks is considered one of the most trustworthy places to buy autographs. I’ve got my eye on one (not a full set), so I just want to clarify a few questions I have.

1- They offer a COA from Frank C. if we want one (isn’t he retired anyway?). Honestly, would it add any real value? For insurance maybe? I’ve read that their own letter of authenticity is usually enough to prove it’s the real deal, so I’m wondering.

2- Except for the shipping, is there anything else I’d have to pay? I’m thinking about things like customs fees, taxes, etc. I’d like to know roughly how much it would cost me in total.

Thanks! Have a nice day!

Hello Evelyne,

A Tracks COA is considered a trustworthy document for most autograph collectors.  Frank C. Is considered the best source for Beatles autographs. If you can get a LOA from Frank I would get it as it will add value to the autograph in the long run.

As far as how much extra you will pay will depend on where you live. You will likely pay a bit more for shipping via courier and associated insurance costs (if available).  The value of the item will be declared at full paid value and you will likely pay duty and or taxes on that amount. For example a $1000 item may have an additional $200 cost when delivered.

I live in Quebec, Canada. Our taxes are about 15%, so on $5,600 CAD (for a £3,000 autograph) it would be around $6,440 total.

From what I understand, in Canada autographs and memorabilia usually have no duty, or it’s very low. I’ll ask Tracks about the category/HS code they use when shipping autographs, just to be sure.

Also it is not my plan to sell back autographs so I guess only the LOA from Tracks would do!

Thank you :)

I’m also in Canada and on delivery you will likely pay GST or HST on the purchase price.  If it comes via courier you will likely pay brokerage fees also dependant on purchase value. Should be no Duty between the UK and Canada.

Ok cool! Didn't think of brokerage fees tbh, from what I just read it could be between 30 and 80$ CAD, but that's what AI tells me... Do you know how much they usually ask? It might be something else to discuss with Tracks eheh

Both Frank and Tracks are considered the gold standard for Beatles LOAs, I have in my collection LOAs from either/or. Frank still issues for trusted long-standing customers (such as myself haha) or organizations such as Tracks with whom he cooperates. On the tax question, others have answered it. Sorry not familiar with Canadian customs laws.

Oooh ok good to know, I was only told he stopped completely. Thank you so much!
