Third Party Authentication Dilemma- Where to put the sticker

I know this has been a subject of discussion many times previously, but I have a simple question:

If you send an item to JSA (or any TPA) for authentication, the idea would be to add value to your item.

But if it comes back with a sticker on it, like the item below, does it then decrease the value?

I love Tony C, grew up watching him, but I would pay more for this card withOUT the JSA sticker and authentication, than I would now:

The messed up part about this particular sticker is that the letter "X" means there was a JSA letter produced for this and they could have put the sticker on the letter itself.. Although I don't agree with the placing of the stickers, in defense of JSA and PSA/DNA there is a box to check on the submission form that asks where you want the sticker placed and if nothing is noted they place it where they want.

I like the idea of the slab, at least it doesn't affect the integrity of the item.
