I don't think it's authentic. Why would he write his jersey number when it's already apart of his signature? Even if he did, I'd assume it would be for Upper Deck rather than for some random guy.

yes I agree that it is fake ...

Thanks for your feedback, guys.  Really appreciate it... I did a little more research and found other examples on the same medium, and they look pretty similar.  I guess I should have searched google & bing before making my original post....This isn't just a random piece, it's a $1500 piece of artwork (when not signed by Lebron).

I think it would be odd for someone to put a fake signature on something that expensive...But hey, i've seen odder things. LOL.

Here is one that sold at Huggins & Scott with JSA Auction letter, zoomed in on signature.  It sold for $800:

Interestingly there is another one for sale on Walmart, this one says it is licensed by the NBA & Mounted Memories authentication.  zoomed in again on signature, for comparison.

apparently, this exact item used to be for sale on the NBA website, as it's listed in Bleacher Report as a Bizarre item, LOL  http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1133194-10-most-bizarre-items-th...

One on ebay, again with Rookie of the year inscription:

Finally another on ebay...this one like the one in the original post, with no "rookie of the year" inscription

I'm just not familiar enough with his signature to determine if these are all very expensive fakes, or legit.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

any other thoughts?

Legit IMO.

Thanks Randy...I believe so too.

Authentic IMO

Just wanted to provide an update...and conclusion to whether it is authentic or not

I ended up bidding on this on Sunday afternoon and won it for a very good price, especially considering what other ones have sold for.

Picked it up today, and found a nice surprise on the back of the canvas (not mentioned by Auction house)...a tiny little hologram that reads BAK07394.

In the Upper Deck database, this comes up:

Congrats on a nice pickup.
