Hi everyone, it has been a while since I have asked for any opinions on autographs. I recently came across this Thurman Munson autographed card and am really intrigued to hear people opinions. I know Munson could sloppy with his signature at times and it could look rushed. I am far less knowledgeable, so any feedback is greatly appreciated.
I found a similar example on a Beckett-certified card, which can be found here.
Considering the sizes of the card are the same and the patterns match, I think you've got a winner!
Wow, I thought it was to good to be true, is the “Th” and “M” a tell tale sign for it being authentic cause I thought the after the “M” it looked to rushed.
it was not uncommon for the last name to be rushed. But the Thurman is spot on, as is the M, it is very difficult to forge the Th correctly.
Understood, though I’m a little confused as to why I found this same card in Heritage Auctions archives, and it was encapsulate by psa dna.
Where did you find this card? It's a beauty. I used to have a '74 Munson like this, signed in blue ink that I purchased a few months after he died, for 12 bucks. Hard to believe.
It is on eBay right now, lister says it came from Bricol auctions some 15 years ago, and I see it was auctioned on heritage auctions in 2014. Confused as to why it would be taken out of encapsulation.
